Using Blog in Writing Class

We can use blogs for various skill of study, this time I will give you an example of a lesson plan using blog for writing class for second grade of senior high school, 2x45 minutes class.

  1. In computers provided class, teacher first should explain the text students are going to have as their lesson today, which is description for around 25 minutes and tell them that they are going to use blog for this task before opening a 5 minute Q and A section in order to make sure their understanding of the text's general stucture and other things deal with the text.

  2. After students are seen having understand the material, teacher explain the task they are going to have: describing people in three to four paragraph and each paragraph should consist of at least five sentences. Students can describe one of their family members, their boyfriends/girlfriends, their favourite artist, etc.

  3. About 20 minutes, start to introduce using blog in the writing class to the students, explain how to use blog for the students and let students experience step by step how to create, design and post on the blog, by starting with ask students to make their draft directly on the blog for about 30 minutes.

  4. For the last 10 minutes, stop students from writing the draft. Ask them to continue writing at home for next week assignment. Also ask other students to comment on other's work during the week before the next class meeting.

OK, I think the example of the lesson plan above can be one of the example of using blog in writing class. You may have different style in using blog as media in teaching. Hovewer, I hope it's useful for you as a reference. Chao^^

Simple but good sample of using blog in teaching. Your lesson plan use the blog itself as a subject of learning and that is very good to guide students in this digital era.
I think your lesson plan will be better if you provide more detail, especially in point 3. Other people wanting to take your lesson plan as a model may find it a little bit difficult to organize the steps.
But overall, your lesson plan is good.

good lesson plan Rosa...
your activity is simple and easy to understand
but i want to suggest you about the time allocation in the number 3, i think 20 minutes is too short..
